Dev Diaries S01E01 – How a Hackathon Project Became a Web3 Startup

In August 2024, Jose Toscano joined the Dev.2 hackathon with a goal to develop EntryX, a decentralized ticketing platform on the Stellar blockchain to eliminate fraud. Initially inspired by issues in ticket resale, he utilized Soroban smart contracts to ensure traceability and fairness. As he progressed, the project shifted focus at Hack Meridian to create the Strooper Wallet, a non-custodial Stellar wallet integrated in Telegram. This innovation facilitated easier access for non-Web3 users via a popular communication app. The project showcased the potential of Stellar’s infrastructure in reducing friction for mainstream blockchain adoption and attracted further collaboration. Toscano’s work alongside Joseph Anthony represents the synergy between blockchain technology and traditional finance through Stellar.
